PN HPT® Technology

What Are Polynucleotides HPT®?

Polynucleotides are purified DNA fractions used in regenerative and aesthetic medicine to support the biological environment of the skin.

Mastelli's Polynucleotides High Purification Technology—PN HPT®—uses a proprietary, fully controlled purification process to produce highly purified polynucleotides from freshwater-raised salmon trout of European origin.

A Skin-Quality Approach Rather Than a Volumising Approach

Conventional dermal fillers are commonly used to restore facial structure or volume. PN HPT® treatments are primarily selected to improve the condition and appearance of the skin.

Depending on the product selected, the treatment may support:

  • Skin texture and radiance
  • Hydration and elasticity
  • Firmness and fine-line improvement
  • The appearance of selected atrophic acne scars
  • Periocular skin quality

The treatment objective is generally progressive, natural-looking skin improvement rather than an immediate change in facial shape.

Fibroblast Support

PN HPT® has been studied for its interaction with fibroblasts, which contribute to the maintenance of the skin's extracellular matrix.[R3]

Extracellular Matrix Support

Laboratory and clinical research has examined PN HPT® in relation to tissue repair and extracellular matrix organisation.[R3]

Antioxidant Activity

Published laboratory research has investigated the scavenging activity of PN HPT®-based hydrogels against reactive oxygen species.[R3]

Skin Hydration and Quality

Clinical studies have reported improvements across selected measures of skin texture, firmness, hydration and radiance.[R2]

Plinest®

Intensive Facial
Bio-Regeneration

Plinest® is Mastelli's flagship high-concentration PN HPT® treatment for facial skin quality. Each 2 ml pre-filled syringe contains 40 mg of PN HPT®. It is designed for patients seeking progressive improvement in facial skin texture, elasticity, hydration and overall appearance without significant volumisation.

How Plinest® Differs From a Dermal Filler

Plinest® is not positioned as a conventional structural or volumising filler. Its primary role is to support skin quality and bio-regeneration. Where structural correction or facial volume is required, a practitioner may recommend a different treatment or a carefully planned combination programme.

Suggested Patient Concerns

Following medical assessment, Plinest® may be considered for:

  • Dull or tired-looking skin
  • Early visible signs of ageing
  • Fine lines and reduced elasticity
  • Uneven skin texture and enlarged-looking pores
  • Dehydrated-looking skin
  • Selected fibrous or atrophic acne-scar concerns

Expected Treatment Experience

Temporary effects may include small raised injection points, redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising and mild discomfort. The duration and severity of these effects vary between individuals.

Plinest® Eye

Targeted Regeneration
for the Eye Contour

Plinest® Eye is specifically formulated for the delicate periocular region. Each 2 ml pre-filled syringe contains 15 mg of PN HPT®. It is designed to support periocular skin texture, firmness and elasticity while avoiding the primary volumising role associated with conventional tear-trough fillers.

Suggested Patient Concerns

  • Fine periocular lines
  • Crepey-looking eye-contour skin
  • Reduced periocular firmness and elasticity
  • Tired-looking eye contours
  • Skin-quality-related dark-circle concerns
Important Patient Education
Dark circles can have several causes, including pigmentation, visible blood vessels, thin skin, structural hollowness, fat-pad prominence and lifestyle factors. Plinest® Eye is primarily a skin-quality treatment. It should not be presented as a guaranteed correction for eye bags, deep tear-trough hollowness or every type of dark circle.

Expected Treatment Experience

The eye area is delicate and may temporarily show raised injection points, puffiness, swelling, redness, tenderness and bruising. Patients should receive suitable aftercare instructions from their treating clinic.

of Clinical Research

Polynucleotides are an active area of research in regenerative and aesthetic medicine.

Published studies involving PN HPT® have examined skin quality, Asian skin rejuvenation, periocular treatment, acne scars, facial rejuvenation and combination treatment with hyaluronic acid. Research outcomes are encouraging, but aesthetic results vary and the overall evidence base continues to develop.

PN HPT® for Asian Skin

A 2024 study involving 30 Asian subjects evaluated PN HPT® treatment across skin-tone evenness, surface evenness, firmness and glow. The study reported meaningful improvements across several assessed skin-quality categories.

The Mastelli guide commonly describes three to four treatments for Plinest®, Plinest® Eye and Newest®. The treating practitioner will personalise the programme.

Temporary raised injection points, redness, swelling, tenderness or bruising may occur. Recovery differs between patients and treatment areas.

Duration varies according to age, skin condition, lifestyle, treatment course and individual biological response. Maintenance treatment may be recommended.

A qualified practitioner may incorporate PN HPT® into a wider treatment plan. Appropriate timing and treatment sequence are important and must be determined by the healthcare professional.
